Nowadays outsourcing services is the rule rather than the exception. It is not so much whether you are going to outsource organization, but rather what, when and with whom. With such naturalness is often forgotten that this has an impact on the role of the internal organization. After all, this changes ‘do it yourself’ to ‘done by others’. A condition in this context is DIRECTION.
Outsourcing is not a sinecure. Your organization will make, marked or unmarked, use of increasing external suppliers. You as an organization have to deal with many internal diminishing parties, each with their own needs and specific questions. Sometimes these are similar questions, sometimes they will be questions that are perpendicular to each other. In this game of supply and demand the directed organization plays a role: directing to clarify the question and directing to let the vendors deliver transparent services, aiming to realize competitive advantages for your organization.
All this requires a lot of management organization. Especially if you want to encompass the directing organization with the existing departments, you have to control focus on other competencies, like a different way of working in a different culture.
